My Bio
My name is Leo Pruitt, a resident of Nebraska since 2010, full time nurse, mother and wife. Using both work and life experience, I'm seeking election for Nebraska Governor in order to improve the lives of every Nebraska resident. As someone who's worked with a variety of demographics, I can see the daily struggle working Nebraskans face. From food insecurity to unaffordable housing, Nebraskans are having to scrape by just to make ends meet, and often can't.
I plan to fix that, and a whole lot more.
My Key Issues
Food security and access
Encourage and promote rooftop gardens on low-income housing developments such as apartments.
Supporting LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity
LGBTQ+ people deserve equal human rights protection alongside every other Nebraska resident.
Border Security
Severely reduce ICE involvement in our state and promote legal immigration pathways. Protection and sanctuary for immigrants waiting for citizenship, while allowing people access to the workforce in order to provide for their families without fear of legal penalties.
Property Tax
Property taxes for private homes will be determined at point of sale, then be locked in until the property is sold again. This will prevent residents from paying higher taxes every year.
